About Us

Theater by Design was started in 2008 when a set of Audrey II puppets was purchased for a Halloween decoration.  Over time more theatrical costumes and large props were added to the collection for musicals like Guys and Dolls, Shrek, Lion King, High School Musical, Little Mermaid and others.  In 2014, a small collection of scenic backdrops was added to compliment the costume collection.  What started as a Halloween prop to dazzle the neighbors grew into a small business that caters to over 125 theaters and schools each year.  Theater by Design partners with amazing designers from all over the country to create their unique musical theater costumes, backdrops and large props.

Our main location is in Shenandoah, Texas,  just north of Houston.
